WCCA TV creating new “Place-Making Project” in downtown Worcester

Written by admin on August 13th, 2012

WCCA TV 13, “The People’s Channel,” is planning an exciting new “place
making” project for Worcester’s downtown. Our Project is called WCCA
TV’s iSMARTT Center (in Studio Media Arts and Recording Technology
Training Center). TV 13′s iSMARTT Center development will involve the
expansion of our studio facility space and a renovation of the facade of our
building at 415 Main St.

This project will further expand the scope of our operations and help us
further fulfill our mission, while creating a fabulous synergy
connecting the northern and southern parts of central downtown Worcester and the Theater District with the vibrant activity of community performances,
television productions, and technology training.

Our plans include the creation of an expanded TV production studio
capable of holding a small audience of about 100-120 people. Also,
it will add classroom space for our media literacy/technology classes
and modify other community spaces in our facility for more efficiency
and energy-saving use. We have acquired plenty of documented community
support for this as a great complement for our downtown.

Thank you,

Mauro DePasquale, Executive Director
