GEORGE STREET BIKE CHALLENGE FOR MAJOR TAYLOR

July 22

See how fast you can pedal up George Street, a short, steep hill in downtown Worcester that was a proving ground for 1899 world cycling champion Marshall W. “Major” Taylor.

It’s one rider at a time against the clock in this uphill time trial on Sunday, July 22, the 16th edition of the George Street Bike Challenge for Major Taylor, presented by Barney’s Bicycle and the Seven Hills Wheelmen.

Entry fee is $20.

A raffle drawing will take place at the conclusion of the race, with a bike from Barney’s as the grand prize.

Proceeds benefit the nonprofit Major Taylor Association.

For details and online registration, visit www.majortaylorassociation.org.
