Scott Brown to face backlash on anti-job votes at “Jobs Tour” TODAY

JAMAICA PLAIN – Demonstrators concerned about Senator Scott Brown’s poor voting record on job creation will assemble today outside of the VA Medical Center in Jamaica Plain, MA at 1:30pm. Senator Brown is hosting an event inside the Medical Center that his staff has billed as part of his “statewide jobs tour.”

While the event has been promoted by Brown’s aides as an opportunity for constituents to interact with Brown around job creation issues, some advocates fear the event may in fact be merely another private, invite-only photo-op.

Brown has not hosted a public town hall or forum for constituents since he assumed office on
February 4, 2010.

Residents participating in the demonstration today want Brown to be honest about the increasing number of votes he has taken that have undermined job creation in the Bay State. Demonstrators will distribute leaflets (attached) outlining Brown’s anti-job voting record to passersby and attendees of the private event between 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.

Demonstrators hope to question Brown on some of his anti-job votes, but were unsure this afternoon whether the ‘jobs tour’ would be open to the public. Organizers say additional demonstrations are possible if Brown fails to publicly address their concerns this afternoon.
