Former Worcester Magazine reporter Jeremy Shulkin’s mommy and daddy get tough with Claude Dorman aka …

By Rosalie Tirella

… Worcester Wonderland blog owner/blogger and make him take down his Wonderland blog (on blogspot)!

Claude Dorman, who lives at 38 Sever St.,  has been Worcester’s #1 cyberbully via his Worcester Wonderland blog for longer than we all can remember. Taking the people he loathes and falsely accusing them of sexual assault, stalking, jail times, court time, etc. Attaching Worcester people’s names and photos to his blog – making them the (false) authors of his venom – par for the course for old Claude, 59.

People have dealt with Claude and his Wonderland blog for years, with trips to court, calls to the police, the DA’s office, etc.

Well, where’s WALDO? That is, where is Claude’s blogspot Wonderland blog????

Seems when the Krush Kush political anti-campaign flew into over drive and copies of Kush’s postings on Wonderland were mailed all over Worcester, Shulkin’s big WoMag story on Claude outed as the evil Wonderland blogger was referenced in the package that half the city got!

Seems like Claude got pissed at the Jeremy Shulkin piece getting this new life. So he posted Jeremy’s photo and full name on his Wonderland blog claiming that Jeremy was the owner/blogger of Wonderland! Take that, Jeremy!

Well, Jeremy, a man in his late 20s, seemed less than manly when …. his parents sent a letter to Claude Dorman in their boy’s defense and, no doubt,  a date in Worcester court loomed on Claude Dorman’s horizon (again).

Very afraid of  another date with a judge and being called out again for his nefarious activities, Dorman killed his wicked blog.

One little boy got his parents to punish another little boy – a very evil one!

Thank you, Mr. and Mrs. Shulkin!

Wonderland Wonder-shit, Tracy Novick and more …

By Rosalie Tirella

We know this: Wondershit (from Wonderland) has no idea how hard I work to put my paper out. He’d last 2 secs w/ ICTimes – not 10 and a half years (as I have) – earning and spending hundreds of thousands of dollars to publish my paper. Don’t worry Wondershit, I have just told tough guy # 2 about you – he’s told me he could hire someone to kill you/slash you up! Hey! What fun! When you come from places like Green Island, Wonderhsit, you are only a person or two away from someone who can do extreme damage to your enemies. I told my pal: NO! NO! It’s illegal! Wondershit will have to be slayed by words! The laptop is mightier than the sword!

But back to Wondeshit! He (along with his loser wife and two or so loser progeny) has done nothing for Worcester except bitch (via his hateful website) about its people and landmarks! We know he hates:

* Barbara Haller, former Worcester District 4 city councilor. Saying she didn’t do any work, poking fun at her at all times. – plain wrong, Wondershit, plain wrong.

* Worcester City Councilor and former Worcester Mayor Joe O’Brien – calling him a “socialist,” calling him a do nothing, just like every other right wing nut in town. Wrong again, Wondershit.

* Paulie C., the guy behind Worcester’s only Jazz festival – really the only guy who has made something cool happen on Chandler Street. Seems like Wondershit was especially vitriolic – especially brutal with Paulie after Paulie’s SUCESSFUL event. Two days after NOLA, Wondershit had to go on his shit-kicker website and claim that there were no attendees at the jazz fest! He wrote that everything NOLA sucked and Paulie should pack it up! Even though it was hosted by Carter Allen of Boston’s WZLX fame (cool!) etc. and people attended. Wondershit just knocked Paulie to death. Later he made it a point to intimate that the guy is an alcoholic and of course Wondershit is pushing a non-local (Paulie is from Somerville) out the door the way all stupid Worcesterites do so often – to the city’s detriment. Provincial is just another name for Wonderhit.

Wondershit hates everyone and everything in this city! He can’t get on board for anything. More stuff/folks he hates and libels in his blog:

* Bill R. – calling Bill a slumlord and distibutor of booze to minors, via his inner-city liquor store. I may disagree with Bill over CDCs, but he runs an OK store – most likely a piece of sanity in an otherwise INSANE innercity neighborhood. I am there … I drive by .. I know the folks who work there. All pretty nice folks – a nice clean space.

* Tony Economou – Worc. Biz group. Why does Wondershit say horrible things about this group/attempt to do fancy investigative pieces when he is just publishing pulbic info on uppermiddle class Worc. folks? Because Wondershit, like most middle-class Worc. homeowners, will most likely see his property taxes go up, via the new Worc. city council. Tony and his group had a little to do with this. Get over it Wondershit-head – you will have to shell out some bucks. You can afford it – like most Worc. cheapskate whiners.

* Wondershit also hates: All things Worcester Mag, all things ICTimes, all the local radio stations. And the TV stations, too! He hates everybody!!

NO WONDER HE STAYS BEHIND HIS FILTHY LAPTOP AND HIDES HIS IDENTITY. HE FEARS FOR HIS LIFE – AND HIS WIFE’S AND KIDS’.

BUT WE’LL TRACK HIM DOWN – THIS MONTH, NEXT YEAR, I CAN WAIT.

One thing: Wondershit doesn’t diss the T & G (or the city of Worc. bureacrats for that matter), so maybe he works for either entity. Forget about the fact that Wondershit breaks copyright law every day – not providing links to the papers etc he takes his graphs from. He just copies and pastes their stuff right onto his website – the T & G seems to be OK with this. Which makes me think he works for them.

* Does Wondershit attend blogger coffee events? Sit in the back and make notes about all the people he hates, the city he loathes? We do know Tracy O’Connel Novick, Worcester Public School Committee person, knows this blogger. He said Novick once encouraged him (over blogger coffee?) to run for public office! Puh-lease, Tracy Novick! That’s the last thing we need – Wonder-shit shitting on everything in town.

* OH and as far as Tracy Novick goes, we have heard this from John Monfredo, fellow Worcester School Committee member: This will be the last time Novick is VICE CHAIRMAN of the WPSchool Committee. Monfredo is head of the WPSC rules subcommittee and he is working to make it a rule that second place vote getters get the vice chair of the Worc. School Committee – not people who do backroom deals like Novick did. Monfredo told me he was not going to vote for Novick getitng the vice chair slot, but Mayor Joe Petty (the Chairman – like all Worc. mayors – of the school committee) went to him and told him to do so, to make the WPSC seem cohesive and positive. Monfredo told Petty he was againt Novick as Vice Chair because she had alientated so many minority parents of WPS students with her Dr. Boone witch-hunt. Monfredo told Petty it would send the wrong message to so many Worc. Public School parents and kids if Novick were to be vice chair.

Petty didn’t listen – and Novick doesn’t care who she offends. So now the city must live with this mistake. But, thanks to John Monfredo, the WPSC rules will soon be changed to make this Novick’s first and last stint as Vice Chair. The process will be fair – just like the way it’s done with the Worcester City Council.

Brilliant!

Three cheers for Mayor Joe O’Brien for standing his ground against folks who want to squelch school district representation on the Worcester School Committee!

He’s right! By creating three or so districts – districts that encompass places like Main South, South Side, Down Town, etc, – in which residents can run for Worcester School Committee, Worcester’s political world will be more welcoming/accessible to minorities, working class/poor people. People whose voices are seldom heard in Worcester. People who can bring new perspectives to the issues.

Think about it. Why do most of the folks on Worcester’s city council and school committee come from the West Side? Because they, as upper middle class folks, ALREADY WEILD POLITICAL/ECONOMIC clout in the city. They already have their foot in the door simply by being who they are. Ex: you’re name is Fred Smith and you are from Moreland Street (on the West Side). You have a good job at UMass Memorial Hospital, you belong to some business and civic associations in Worcester, you’re a church/neighborhood leader, you go to the theater once a month, etc. Right then and there you have a bunch of things going for you that a regular ol’ person doesn’t have going for him/herself: 1. Money to run you campaign CITY-WIDE 2. Connections – connections with people of standing at your work place – in Fred’s case it might be the nurses or doctors at Memorial Hospital or the hospital’s administrators. These people vote and they will vote for you AND be able to give you campaign $. 3. You, as Fred, also probably have plenty of “name recognition” at church, your neighborhood and business association/groups to which you belong – again situations ripe with possibilities, ripe with folks who are educated to VOTE and have the money to make campaign contributions. So you, as Fred already already, have 20 legs up on the person from Main South – maybe a factory worker with great ideas but none of the life benefits middle class people take for grantted.

By creating districts, the City of Worcester will enable the person from the South Side, etc to have an asier job garnering votes, campaigning etc.

When Mayor O’Brien says this change in WPS committee compostion is going to open things up politically for new voices/people/ideas, he is 100% correct!

Idiot Jeremy Shulkin from the supposedly “alternative” paper Worcester Mag is supporting the racist/classist status quo when his stories not so subtley side with people like Kate Toomey or even most of the WPS Committee. It is awefully hard to stand up to – even see – a kind of city-wide, entrenched racism/classism. People just see the system the way it is – have trouble seeing its flaws because they have lived with it (to their advantage) all their lives. No one wants to give up power/clout.

This is the time for all progressives to make some noise! To rock this city – for the better!

Interesting Worcester Mag (Magazine) webstats from Wonderland blogger guy

By Rosalie Tirella

The website “Worcester Wonderland.com” proves what we have been thinking for the last year or so (and people have been telling us): NO one reads Worcester Magazine (Mag) anymore – especially their website!

Most folks don’t seem as interested in the Worcester Magazine (now Mag) newspaper anymore. People tell me they don’t read it the way they used to and, just by making my rounds, checking my paper out, I think the anecdotal evidence stacks up: I see the Worcester Mag papers languishing in their drop off sites. Just sitting there. Not being picked up by the good people of Worcester. Deadsville. Sometimes I’ll watch a pile for a week – and they won’t go down.

And now this from the Worcester Wonderland website He/the site’s blogger/owner does not give his name but I am quoting him here:

“We’ve been looking at webstats for local media companies. This week we thought it would be interesting to peek at WOMAG’s [Worcester Magazine now Worcester Mag] stats. For some unknown reason we had the impression that WOMAG had a sizable web presence i.e., lots of traffic. The reality is, there ain’t a whole lot going on over there. Interesting is that their web-analytics service Quantcast, is blocked from public access. Wonder why? …. WOMAG [Worcester Magazine or Mag] [website] visitor traffic hovered between 1,500 and 7.0k monthly during 2010. Um… not a whole lotta locals making their way there considering the size of the County (750,000) and the City proper (173,000).”

No, Wonderland blogger-boy, there are not a lot of people checking out Woe-Mag’s website. For all the thousands of dollars they probably poured into building their website (sometimes they can cost as much as $28,000) and all the noise Woe Maggers make about themselves and their paper, 1,500 Worcester Mag web site readers pretty much blows.

So how did the Holden Landmark company run “Blow Mag” into the ground (1 reporter, 1 editor, 0 steady free-lancers – firings every other month up until six months or so ago)?

It may be that Worcester Mag will never recover from the way owner Kirk Davis and publisher Gareth Charter treated the old Worcester Mag staff when they bought the paper a few years ago. Everyone was promised there would be no firings – and everyone (except sales staff) was fired. Immediately! (and probably replaced by folks who would be paid a lot less money)

Some of those dumped Worcester Mag writers were local singers and songwriters with deep roots in the community. This might explain why the new Worcester Mag hasn’t been able to get/keep a writer who covers music/bands. PLUS: They have gone through a dozen reporters and editors in only two years. One of their hires – their last new editor – I think his name was Danny Cross – didn’t even last 3 weeks! I never saw his byline in the paper!

Something is woefully wrong at Woe Mag. Is it the lack of local roots? Publisher Gareth Charter’s supreme asshole-ness?

Perhaps we’ll never know …

Is it something in the water cooler at Worcester Magazine? (OR: WTF!? They’ve gone through five reporters/editors in two years – not to mention about a dozen staffers!)

By Rosalie Tirella

So about two years ago millionaire/Worcester old money-man Allen Fletcher sells “his” Worcester Magazine to the Kirk Davis/Gareth Charter/Holden Landmark crowd. All Worcester Magazine staffers interviewed. All editorial folks told they would be retained. In fact, each person is interviewed for a half hour, asked about his/her job, etc. People feel good; people feel secure and safe. Allen Fletcher writes a happy pappy farewell editorial assuring THE WORLD they are all in good hands with the Kirk Davis/Gareth Charter/Holden Ladmark pukes.

Next week everyone is fired, except one reporter and sales reps. Bad feelings all the way around.

Sales reps eventually say Fuck you Kirk Davis! and move on, too. This takes about eight months.

Next … Worcester Magazine cartoonist Doug Chapel, an artist/graphic designer who creates/draws “Action Geek,” a cartoon that had been running in Worcester Magazine for four or so years (for a whopping $50 per ‘toon – how cheap is rich boy Allen Fletcher?) receives an email from the new Worcester Magazine editor, Jim Keogh. Keogh was editor of the Holden Landmark for about 100 years and seems to have experience in running a paper, working with reporters. In his email Keogh tells Chapel he is fired.

Not very classy. Continue reading Is it something in the water cooler at Worcester Magazine? (OR: WTF!? They’ve gone through five reporters/editors in two years – not to mention about a dozen staffers!)

Blow Mag’s Jeremy “Skulk-in” – member of the “club” alright! (THE STUPID CLUB)

By Rosalie Tirella

Last issue of Worcester Mag (the “new” Worcester Magazine) had the paper’s newest reporter Jeremy Shulkin (they stay about a year at Worcester Mag these days) crowing about his job! Yes, said Jeremy “Skulk-in” (that’s what I call the dweeb) in his op/ed piece, it was great to be “in the club”! In fact, the header of Skulkin’s piece was called: “In The Club.” And so an insensitive, entitled, not very talented writer crowed about how it was great to be “connected” in Wormtown.

In his column, Shulkin bragged that at Worcester Mag’s Water Street office he had a desk with a view – that from it (with his feet propped up, no doubt!), he could look down upon Water Street and environs – the blossoming Canal District. Up high above, from his second or third floor perch, Jeremy could survey the little people of Worcester … his domain! Continue reading Blow Mag’s Jeremy “Skulk-in” – member of the “club” alright!
