RIDE OF SILENCE
Meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, at the Old Stone Church, Route 12 and
Beaman Street, West Boylston, Mass., for a 19-mile Ride of Silence
bicycle ride with the Seven Hills Wheelmen. Helmets are required. At
hundreds of locations around the globe at 7 p.m. local time, cyclists
roll out on the Ride of Silence. People bike silently and slowly in
memory of cyclists killed on the road, in honor of those injured on the
road, and to promote awareness about cyclists and motorists sharing the
road. The Seven Hills Wheelmen ride is in memory of Eugene D. Murphy,
76, of Worcester and Robert J. Wall Sr., 55, of Grafton, club members
who were killed while cycling on Feb. 17, 1993, in Florida. We will ride
around Wachusett Reservoir, or maybe a shorter route if we don’t have
enough daylight. For more information, call (508) 831-0301 or visit
